January 16, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan imposes temporary restrictions on the import of meat and other livestock products from some regions of Germany, Israel, Scotland and Nigeria in connection with outbreaks of dangerous animal diseases.
ABC.AZ informs that the decision was made by the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan (AQTA).
In particular, foot-and-mouth disease has been detected in the federal state of Brandenburg in Germany and in the Central District of Israel, and outbreaks of avian influenza have been reported in the Angus region in Scotland and the state of Kano in Nigeria.
In this regard, the import of large and small cattle, live poultry, hatching eggs, poultry meat and poultry processing products from these regions is temporarily prohibited.
An appeal has been sent to the State Customs Committee to take appropriate measures to control the import of livestock products.
