January 23, Fineko/abc.az. Rovshan Rustamov, chairman at Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), met with Jabbar Ali Zakeri Sardroudi, the head of Iranian Railways, as part of the regular meeting of the Joint Azerbaijani-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission in Tehran.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to ADY, that the railway leaders discussed expansion of the cargo terminal located in the Iranian city of Astara and the work carried out at the terminal.

Astara terminals both in Azerbaijan and Iran allow faster and more efficient implementation of growing volumes of cargo transportation via the North-South corridor, realize strategic potential of the corridor, as well as strengthen the transport infrastructure of Azerbaijan and Iran and develop regional trade.
