February 5, Fineko/abc.az. Billionaire Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway increased its investment in broadcasting corporation Sirius XM Holdings, buying 2.3 million of its shares for about $54 million in a few days and increasing its stake in the satellite radio company to $2.9 billion.

As ABC reports.In total, Berkshire Hathaway now owns 35% of Sirius. The company's shares rose 2.6% on Tuesday.

Berkshire made purchases on January 30 and 31 and February 3 and paid an average of about $23.5 per share.

Berkshire now owns almost 120 million shares of Sirius XM worth $2.9 billion, which corresponds to a 35% stake.

Sirius XM shares have fallen more than by 50% over the past year and are traded near a 52-week low amid subscriber churn. On Tuesday, securities rose 2.6% to $24.6.
