February 6, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, work is underway to create 24 agricultural parks in 22 districts on an area of 66,300 hectares, ABC.AZ infoms, quoting Seymur Adigezalov, chairman of board of the Economic Zones Development Agency.

He noted that 23 agricultural parks have already started their activities, and construction and installation works are underway in one agricultural park:

"Of the agricultural parks, 6 ones specialize in animal husbandry, 6 ones in fruit growing, 11 in agriculture, 1 in sorting, packaging and logistics. The total project cost of agricultural parks is 1.1 billion. manats, of which actually 900 million manats. The manat was invested in projects in the form of private investments. In addition, so far, government support in the amount of 158.9 million manats has been given for creation or expansion of agricultural parks. To date, the Entrepreneurship Development Fund allocated a concessional loan of 142.4 million manats for creation of 16 agricultural parks. 17 agricultural parks that received investment promotion documents received privileges for the import of machinery, technological equipment and equipment in the amount of 16.5 million manats. In the registered agricultural parks, 3,720 people are provided with permanent jobs, and 4,878 people are involved in seasonal work. At the next stage, it is planned to additionally create more than 1,600 permanent jobs," Adigezalov said.
