Majid Movahedi Garderi, a member of the board of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, believes that the agreement will increase bilateral trade from $11.7 billion in 2023 up to $30 billion by the end of the decade. At the same time, about $5 billion will be provided by agriculture.
ABC.AZ informs that despite the difficult political situation, agricultural trade between Turkey and Iran increased by 30% in 2024. The parties discussed the modernization of border checkpoints to facilitate trade, with a focus on transport routes that connect the countries with Central Asia.
"Iran is Turkey's gateway to Asia, and Turkey is Iran's gateway to Europe. Despite the sanctions, we will not stop economic and trade relations with our neighbor," said Turkish Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Yumakli.
