February 7, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani Deputy PM Samir Sharifov has been appointed the chairman of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development.

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant amendments to the decree on the establishment of the Council dated October 6, 2016 were approved by President Ilham Aliyev.

Sharifov replaced Ali Ahmadov, who served as Deputy PM of Azerbaijan before becoming a deputy in September 2024.

On January 10, President Aliyev dismissed Samir Sharifov from the post of finance minister and appointed him Deputy PM. Sharifov has been the Finance Minister since 2006.
