February 12, Fineko/abc.az. Tesla shares fell by 6% on Tuesday, February 11, after BYD became a partner of Deep Seek, and the founder of the American company, Elon Musk, was distracted by OpenAI, ABC.AZ reports, referring to CNBC.

Chinese competitor Tesla announced plans to develop autonomous vehicle technology using DeepSeek and said it would offer its autopilot-like system in almost all of its new cars, heightening concerns that Musk's company is lagging behind competitors.

BYD, which has become Tesla's fiercest competitor on the global stage, said on Monday, February 10, that at least 21 of its new car models will be equipped with partially automated driving systems that include automatic parking and highway navigation functions.

Tesla doesn't offer robotaxis yet, and its electric vehicles currently require a human driver to stay behind the wheel, ready to turn or brake at any moment.
