February 13, Fineko/abc.az. U.S. President Donald Trump has said that his meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin may take place in Saudi Arabia, according to US media.

At that, Trump noted that he would probably visit Russia and wait for Putin in the U.S.

"We assume he will come here, and I will go there (to Russia). And our first meeting will probably take place in Saudi Arabia," the American president said.

On Wednesday, the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, had a lengthy phone conversation, discussing the conflict in Ukraine and the possibility of starting a negotiation process to end it.

According to Trump, both leaders agreed that they want to put an end to the "millions of deaths" in the Ukrainian conflict. They also agreed to work closely on this issue, in particular, to "visit each other's countries".

He expressed a hope that his efforts would lead to success in resolving the situation in Ukraine.

"I believe the efforts being made will lead to successful results. I hope this will happen soon," Trump wrote.
