February 17, Fineko/abc.az. Microsoft will allocate $700 million for expansion of the data center in Poland.
ABC.AZ reports that earlier, Polish PM Donald Tusk told journalists after a meeting with Microsoft President Brad Smith in Warsaw.
"About 3 billion zlotys, more precisely $700 million, or 2.8 billion in terms of our currency, is the investment that Microsoft management confirmed today," Tusk said at a press conference broadcast by TVP Info.
The head of Microsoft, in turn, explained that this is the second phase of the Polish Digital Valley project, which will last until 2026. In addition, he stressed that the computing power within the project will be used to strengthen cybersecurity in cooperation with the Polish army.
In 2020, Microsoft invested $1 billion in the Polish Digital Valley. In 2023, the corporation opened the first cloud data processing center in the Central and Eastern Europe region near Warsaw.
