February 19, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan imported 40,670 tons of palm oil from Indonesia and 23,900 tons from Malaysia.

ABC.AZ informs that crude palm oil belongs to the category of unprocessed vegetable oils that have not been chemically modified.

This vegetable oil is mainly used in the food industry and industrial purposes. The largest producing countries in the world are Indonesia and Malaysia.

Palm oil, being less expensive than other oils, is an attractive product for both Azerbaijan and other countries.

Another peak in the growth of vegetable oils last year was sunflower oil. The volume of imports of crude sunflower oil amounted to 43,740 tons or $38.74 million with annual increase of 27%. The volume of imports of corn oil, the most widely used in the country, increased by 18% to 7,970 tons ($9.89 million) year-on-year and by 17% to 11,050 tons ($16.72 million) in finished form.
