February 27, Fineko/abc.az. According to the new master plan, new sub-centers will be created on the Absheron Peninsula.
ABC.AZ informs that Riad Gasimov, the head of the Main Department of Architecture & Urban Planning of the Baku State Committee for Urban Planning & Architecture, made this statement at the International Developers Summit in Baku.
According to Gasimov, Baku, like many cities in the region, began to grow and expand from the center, that is, from the fortress complex.:
"The capital still suffers from mono-centralization. According to the new master plan, it is planned to have several multifunctional cells on the Absheron Peninsula. The goal is to create equal conditions for everyone, regardless of their place of residence. That is, so that people can receive all services within their residential area in 15 minutes. It is planned to create green corridors between different subcentres. The largest of them is being created within the city - it will stretch from Ganjlik metro station to the port of Baku. This is a fairly large corridor to be created in a few years. The corridor will create eco-friendly ways to travel, spend time, etc. The same green corridors will be created outside the central part of the city. They will connect urban subcenters outside the central zone."
