March 3, Fineko/abc.az. It is important to develop a regulatory framework for documenting private residential buildings built without permission.

ABC.AZ reports that this information was reflected in the report of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) on the protection of human rights for 2024, discussed at todays meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights.

It was noted that one of the important steps to be taken towards ensuring housing rights is the documentation of undocumented living quarters. There is a legal framework for documenting apartments located in multi-storey buildings, but there is still no mechanism for registering unauthorized private residential buildings, and this restricts the right to use and dispose of apartments of persons living in these buildings, as well as the exercise of other related rights.
