Businesses in Karabakh are exempt from most taxes and fees

March 7, Fineko/abc.az. The economic reintegration of our liberated territories promises great opportunities for the country's sustainable development. The creation of business-friendly mechanisms in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions, the promotion of entrepreneurial activity, the provision of tax, customs, social and other benefits play an important role in the development of the region and increasing the attractiveness of business.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry of Economy that successful implementation of the First State Program for large return to the territories of Azerbaijan, liberated from occupation is of great importance in this regard.

Special mention should be made of support measures aimed at attracting domestic and foreign investors in order to create new production facilities in the region and provide employment.

Imported machinery, technological equipment and installations, as well as raw materials and supplies for residents engaged in production activities in the region, are exempt from VAT and customs duties.

Business entities operating in the region are also exempt from paying income tax, land, property and simplified taxation.

The Entrepreneurship Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy, within the framework of the mechanism "Support for entrepreneurs operating in the territories liberated from occupation", provides business entities with guarantees and subsidies for loans received from banks.
