March 12, Fineko/abc.az. In January 2025, Azerbaijan's foreign trade had positive trade balance of $21.2 million, while in January 2024, positive balance of $985.8 million was formed in trade turnover.
ABC.AZ informs, with reference to the State Statistics Committee, that trade turnover amounted to $4.13 bn. Of them, $2.07 bn accounted for exports and $2.05 bn for imported products.
The trade balance is difference between country's exports and imports. If exports exceed imports, there is positive balance (trade surplus), and otherwise negative balance (trade deficit). Positive balance means that more currencies are flowing into the country, and negative balance means that more currencies are flowing abroad.
In January 2025, trade increased by 25.3% compared with January 2024, including exports declined by 12.5% and imports increased by 50.1%.
Exports of non-oil/gas products amounted to $245.8 million (10.4% less in real terms, but 10.7% higher in actual prices).
Azerbaijan traded with 128 countries around the world. During this time, products were exported to 75 countries, and imports were carried out from 124 countries.
