March 14, Fineko/abc.az. In 2024, 298 stateless persons received Azerbaijani citizenship.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to Cabinet of Ministers' report on government activity for 2024, that last year the number of e-appeals to the State Migration Service, regarding registration at the place of stay, extension of temporary stay, work and residence permits, and citizenship issues reached 147,800.

As of December 31, 2024, the number of foreigners legally residing or residing in the country amounted to 184,800 people (18,900 people or 11.4% more than in 2023).

In addition, during 2024, the Service received 599,500 requests for registration at the place of stay, extension of temporary stay, obtaining (extending) temporary and permanent residence permits and work permits, granting refugee status, citizenship, readmission and other issues, which is 10,900 or 1.8% less than in the previous year against 2023.

Last year, 22,300 cases of violations of migration legislation were identified (in 2023 - 23,100) and appropriate measures were taken.
