March 18, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of Russian Federation's public debt in 2024 increased by 13.5%, or almost 3.5 trillion rubles, up to 29 trillion rubles.
ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in Accounts Chambers analytical note on implementation of the federal budget for 2024.
"In 2024, the national debt of the Russian Federation grew by 3.445 trillion rubles, or 13.5%, and as of January 1, 2025, amounted to 29.04 trillion rubles, or 14.5% of GDP, according to Rosstat's first estimate," the document says.
At the same time, according to the analytical note, Russian Federation’s state domestic debt increased by 2.93 trillion rubles, or by 14.1%, and amounted to 23.74 trillion rubles, or 89% of the upper limit of the state domestic debt of the Russian Federation (26.68 trillion rubles). Thus, its share in the total national debt of the Russian Federation grew from 81.3% to 81.8%.
