April 10, Fineko/abc.az. Secondary schools will be transformed into legal entities under public law.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Science & Education, Jeyhun Mammadov. According to Mammadov, the change will lead to an increase in teachers' salaries.

A legal entity under public law provides both services that are important to society and can receive funding from the budget and additional sources of income. Currently schools operate under the jurisdiction of regional education departments. And transformation of schools into a legal entity of public law means that, having left the structure functioning as an integral part of the state, they receive the status of an independent legal entity. This decision will lead to important changes in the school's management, funding, and operating mechanisms.
