April 15, Fineko/abc.az. American companies that were part of AmCham lost approx. $100 billion as a result of leaving Russia, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Robert Agee, the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham), in an interview with Expert.
"But, I repeat, this figure does not include all possible losses, mostly these are forced discounts. We estimated the losses of companies that are or were part of AmCham and may not include the losses of other American companies," he said, referring to the amount of losses of American companies as a result of leaving the Russian Federation.
He clarified that the calculation of losses includes an effect that is directly, rather than indirectly, related to restrictions: asset sales below the investment price, discounts.
"For example, logistics used to cost 2% of the cost, but now it costs 5%, suspended dividends, and so on. Do you know the RDIF's estimate of $300 billion? We don't know what the foundation's experts thought. But if you calculate and include such effects as loss of market share, increased operating costs, and so on, you can calculate $300 billion. But our estimate is lower," Agee explained.
