April 16, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has issued a license to Guavapay to operate as an electronic money organization.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the CBA that the license was issued on the basis of the Law on Payment Services & Payment Systems.

"Currently, the assessment of other organizations that have applied for a license to provide payment services is ongoing," the CBA said.

The CBA has issued perpetual licenses to 16 companies for activity of electronic money organizations, 8 companies for the activities of payment organizations, and the AzeriCard processing center for activities as an electronic money organization and payment system operator. Thus, the number of organizations licensed in this field has reached 26.
