April 17, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Mar 2025, 508,100 foreigners and stateless persons from 167 countries arrived in Azerbaijan (1.1% less versus Jan-Mar 2024).
ABC.AZ was informed at the State Statistics Committee that 24.7% of the arrivals were from the Russian Federation, 18.3% from Turkey, 10.8% from India, 9.8% from Iran, 5.0% from Georgia, 3.6% from Kazakhstan, 2.7% from Pakistan, by 2.1% from the UAE and Saudi Arabia, 1.8% from Uzbekistan, 1.7% from China, by 1.5% from Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Israel, 1.2% from Kuwait, 1% from Belarus and 10.7% from other countries. Men made up 71.6% of the arrivals, while women - 28.4%.
For Jan-Mar 2025, the number of arrivals from Israel to Azerbaijan grew 4-fold, from Tajikistan 2-fold, from China 1.8-fold, from Jordan 1.6-fold, from Spain 1.6-fold, from India by 47.6%, from Kyrgyzstan by 32.6%, from Japan by 26.5%, from Egypt by 25.0%, from the U.S. by 17.3%, from Canada by 15.2%, from the Netherlands by 12.2%, and from Pakistan by 11.5%.
Compared with Jan-Mar 2024, the number of arrivals from the European Union member states decreased by 7.8% to 17,100 people, from the Persian Gulf countries by 9.3% to 82,900 people, from the CIS countries by 10.7% to 170,600 people. And the number of arrivals from other countries grew by 11.8% up to 237,500 people.
69.9% of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived in Azerbaijan for Jan-Mar 2025 traveled by air, 28.4% by rail and road, and 1.7% by sea.
Compared with Jan-Mar 2024, the total number of citizens of Azerbaijan traveling abroad declined by 0.7% to 468,900 people. The number of citizens of Azerbaijan’s travelers to Iran increased by 24.1%, to Georgia - by 16.4%, and the number of those traveling to Turkey decreased by 5.4%, and to the Russian Federation by 25.3%.
36.5% of Azerbaijani citizens visited Turkey, 15.7% - the Russian Federation, 11% - Georgia, 10.7% - Iran, 26.1% - other countries. Men made up 66.3% of those leaving, while women - 33.7%.
OVer Jan-Mar 2025, 68.2% of citizens of Azerbaijan visiting foreign countries traveled by air, 29.7% by rail and road, and 2.1% by sea.
