April 18, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. wants to ensure complete ceasefire in Ukraine within a few weeks.

ABC.AZ reports that America expects significant progress on this issue in the near future.

The Americans announced such plans to representatives of Europe during yesterday’s negotiations in Paris.

"The discussions focused mainly on how to move towards ceasefire and lasting peace as soon as possible," the agency writes.

French President Emmanuel Macron received U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff at the Elysee Palace. The agenda of negotiations, which the French leader called "an important opportunity for rapprochement", included peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and trade tariffs.

"We arrived in Paris with one goal: to identify concrete solutions to end the war between Russia and Ukraine" and to stop "unnecessary bloodshed", Rubio wrote on the social network.

The "working lunch" was also attended by representatives of the countries of the "coalition of the willing" - national security advisers to the governments of Germany and Great Britain.

The Ukrainian delegation included Presidential Adviser Andriy Ermak, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
