China sharply cuts imports of gas and petroleum products from U.S.

April 21, Fineko/abc.az. In March, China lowered imports of coal, gases and petroleum products from the U.S. The only exception was oil.

ABC.AZ informs that gas imports decreased by 44% to $720 million, liquefied propane – by 36% to $658 million, coal – 3.1-fold to $30.8 million. This minimum was previously recorded in 2020.

Imports of petroleum products from the U.S. dropped 3.2-fold in March to $11.6 million.

The exception to the trend was oil, as imports increased by 22% to $326.2 million.

Earlier in March, China stopped purchases of liquefied natural gas from the U.S. and increased its imports from Australia, Indonesia and Brunei.
