April 21, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of nitrogen fertilizers sold abroad by Azerbaijan has increased.

ABC.AZ informs that the main buyers of nitrogen fertilizers have changed.

Thus, Ukraine became the main buyer of nitrogen fertilizers in Azerbaijan in the first two months of 2025. During this period, 113,810 tons of fertilizers were exported to Ukraine, and revenue amounted to $33.7 million. While for Jan-Feb 2024, only 42,145 tons of fertilizers ($8.1 million) were exported to Ukraine. This means that exports to Ukraine have almost tripled in both volume and revenue.

Exports to Turkey, on the contrary, declined sharply. In the first two months of 2024, 41,917 tons of fertilizers were shipped to Turkey, while only 3,015 tons were exported in 2025. This means a decrease of 92.8%. Accordingly, export revenues also fell from $7.6 million to $814,000.

Although exports to Romania have also declined, this country still holds a significant share. Of the 28,499 tons of fertilizers exported in 2024, 5,072 tons of fertilizers were shipped to Romania this year. However, no exports were registered to Albania in the first two months of 2025. However, 2,998 tons of fertilizers were sold to this country for Jan-Feb 2024.

Although exports to Georgia reached 501 tons in 2024, even in small quantities, this year this country was not included in export statistics.
