April 22, Fineko/abc.az. The head of the Railway Company of the Islamic Republic of Iran estimated the volume of rail traffic in the country in the previous Iranian calendar year (ending March 20, 2025) at 5 million tons.

ABC.AZ informs that Deputy Minister of Roads of Iran Jabbar Ali Zakeri, noted that the volume of rail transit in the country will reach 8 million tons before the end of the current Iranian calendar year (which ends on March 20, 2026).

He further said that the development of the transit industry would bring foreign exchange profits to this sector, adding that the volume of transit traffic in the country would reach 40 million tons in the long term after the completion of the East-West and North-South corridors.
