April 22, Fineko/abc.az. China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has entered into a long-term agreement with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for the purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
ABC.AZ reports that this is the 3rd supply contract that the Middle Eastern energy exporter signed with Chinese buyers over the weekend.
Earlier, Chinese private company ENN Natural Gas and state-owned energy trader Zhenhua Oil signed urgent contracts for the supply of LNG from ADNOC.
The tariff war with the U.S. has pushed Chinese buyers to resell U.S. goods and enter into new supply deals as reciprocal tariffs raise the cost of imports.
According to Kepler and LSEG data, China did not import American LNG in March 2025.
According to Chinese customs data, the U.S. accounted for about 5% of Chinese LNG last year.
