April 22, Fineko/abc.az. The U.S. has imposed duties of up to 35.21% on solar panels from Southeast Asia, ABC.AZ reports, referring to Bloomberg.

The trade investigation by American manufacturers has revealed that solar panels from Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Malaysia are entering the U.S. market at dumping prices.

It turned out that Asian manufacturers benefited from local government subsidies, after which they sold finished products to American companies at prices below the cost of production.

The duties are aimed at supporting manufacturers of similar equipment in the U.S. However, this measure will hit local developers of renewable energy systems, who have been relying on inexpensive imported products for a long time, the publication says.

The new duties will be applied in addition to those already imposed by Donald Trump.
