May 6, Fineko/abc.az. Completion of the 1st stage of the Great Return Program is planned by the end of 2026, when 140,000 former internally displaced persons will return to Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to the Restoration, Construction & Management Service in the city of Khankendi, Aghdere and Khojaly districts, that 85 families (341 people) have moved to the city of Khojaly and 172 families (811 people) to the village of Ballija of Khojaly district.

In total, 1,152 people settled in Khojaly. The resettlement continues not only in Khojaly, but also in Aghdere. 70 families (238 people) moved to Hasanriz village of Aghdere district, 180 families (592 people) moved to Sugovushan village, and 20 families (91 people) to Talish village. A total of 921 people are currently living in the villages of Aghdere.

The 2nd phase of the Great Return Program will consist of three phases and will cover 2026-2040, and the process will be finished by 2040.
