May 6, Fineko/abc.az. From June 30, Russia will launch an updated digital registration system for foreign citizens entering the country within visa-free regime.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the new procedure, they will need to issue a special QR code in advance through portal RuID Public Services.

Foreigners must complete digital identification at least three days before entry: enter personal information, the purpose of the trip, the route and the address of their stay in Russia, as well as upload a photo and scans of documents.

In case of emergency (illness or death of a relative), registration will be allowed four hours before entry.

The application is valid for 90 days.

The received QR code is presented when passing through border control.

Foreigners will also have to undergo biometric control procedures upon arrival in Russia: fingerprinting and photographing.

The exceptions are citizens of Belarus, diplomats from visa-free countries and children under 6 years of age. For minors from 6 to 18 years of age, entry will be allowed only if accompanied by parents or official guardians.

The experimental mode, within which the new system is being implemented, will last until June 30, 2026.
