May 6, Fineko/abc.az. Export of industrial products under the Made in Azerbaijan brand has been launched to South Africa, Yemen and Argentina, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Economic Zones Development Agency (under Azerbaijan's Economy Ministry).

"Enterprises in industrial zones primarily manufacture products to meet the needs of the domestic market. The main focus is on the needs of the local market. One of the biggest advantages of industrial zones is to reduce the country's dependence on imports, create new export opportunities and export local industrial products to foreign markets under the Made in Azerbaijan brand. Products manufactured under this brand can be found in more than 70 countries," the Agency says.

The Agency also noted that as a result of the activities of industrial zones, the outflow of foreign currency from the country is prevented and its inflow into the country is increased: "One of the main goals of the Agency is to transform Azerbaijan from an importing country into an exporting country. There have been significant strides in this direction. More than 50% of enterprises in industrial parks export their products to foreign markets. More than 50 types of products are exported. In the near future, further expansion of the range of products under the Made in Azerbaijan brand is expected. One of the steps in this direction is the launch of new enterprises in industrial zones, including manufacturing plants related to the automotive industry, for example, the new IVECO brand plant."
