May 13, Fineko/abc.az. The export of Turkish clothing to Azerbaijan has significantly decreased. According to the Turkish Ministry of Trade, the volume of clothing supplies to our country in the first quarter of 2025 decreased significantly compared to Q1 of 2024. Why did demand start to fall?

ABC.AZ reports that many consumers began to abandon online orders, considering them not as profitable as before.

"I used to make orders, albeit a little, because the prices were reasonable. Now they have grown, and I no longer prefer online shopping. I purchased products directly on the websites of Turkish brands, but now I see that the prices there are gradually increasing and almost do not differ from the local ones. I usually focus on the cost and choose the more profitable option," one of the customers shared.

Surveys show that the majority of consumers share this opinion. The key factors influencing the situation were economic changes in Turkey, including inflation and exchange rate fluctuations, which led to an increase in the cost of clothing. In addition, shipping costs and customs duties have increased. Thus, today it has become more expensive to order clothes online from Turkey than in previous years.
