May 15, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan registered recorded changes in the volume and cost of imports of some vegetable oils in the 1st quarter of 2025. In addition, palm oil imports were completely stopped during this period.

ABC.AZ infotms that for Q1 of 2025, our country imported 11,983 tons of vegetable oil with total value of $15.01 million. This means that the average price per ton was approx. $1,253.15.

Over the same period of 2024, the volume of imports reached 13,400 tons, and the total cost was $10.87 million. At that time, the average price per ton was $809.64.

Thus, the price per ton of vegetable oil grew by $443.51 (about 55%), despite a drop in imports by nearly 1,440 tons. Almost 100% of this product is of Russian origin. In the 1st quarter of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 11,950 tons of vegetable oil from Russia.
