May 15, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of cargo transported by sea in Azerbaijan for Jan-Apr 2025 totaled 2.946 million tons.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Statistics Committee that the figure is 332,800 tons, or 12.7% more versus Jan-Apr 2024.

48.5% of the cargoes accounted for oil cargoes.

Seaports carried out loading and unloading operations in the amount of 4 million 543.1 thousand tons (+3.1%), including 3.797 million tons (+7.3%), or 83.6%, of transit cargoes.

As of May 1, 2025, the volume of cargo remaining in ports totaled 193,100 tons (35 tons or 15% less against Jan-Apr 2024).

For the past 4 months of 2025, the volume of cargo transported by economic entities operating in the transport sector amounted to 76.1 million tons. 3.9% of the cargo was transported by sea.

For the reported term, the number of passengers carried by this type of transport decreased by 700 people or 8.1% versus Jan-Apr 2024 and reached 7,900 people.
