May 16, Fineko/abc.az. As previously reported, the World Bank analyzed the opinions of 368 officially registered companies operating in Azerbaijan, regarding the tax system as part of the 2024 Business Environment Survey (WBES).

ABC.AZ informs, referring to this analysis, that companies believe that the tax burden is disproportionate to their actual business turnover. This is especially true in the small & medium-sized business sector.

Many entrepreneurs note that the process of preparing and submitting tax reports is complex and time-consuming. In some cases, ambiguities in tax legislation and frequent rule changes make business planning difficult.

In addition, there are difficulties with adapting to the electronic system: "Although electronic tax filing is already widely used, technical problems and low levels of digital literacy pose obstacles in some regions," the analysis says.
