May 19, Fineko/abc.az. British gold mining company Anglo Asian Mining PLC has announced the start of production at the new underground mine Gilar located at Gedabey site.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to company's announcement, that currently, ore is extracted from zone 4 with high content of copper and gold, and ore indicators are proceeding in accordance with company's production plan. The company aims to mine about 2,000 tons of ore daily.

The first estimate of Gellar field reserves in accordance with JORC standards was published on December 11, 2023. This estimate shows that Gilar deposit contains a total of 6.10 million tons of ore. The average content is 0.88% in copper (about 54,000 tons of copper) and 1.30 g/t in gold (close to 255,000 ounces of gold).
