May 20, Fineko/abc.az. Banks in Cuba are working to start issuing cards of Russian payment system Mir.

ABC.AZ reports that Juana Lilia Delgado Portal, the head of the Central Bank of Cuba, informed about this to Izvestia.

"At the moment, work is underway to issue Mir cards in Cuban banks. The responsible authorities are seriously working over this," she said.

She noted that currently the cards of this payment system are already used in Cuba, so that Russian tourists can pay for their purchases in the country.

"Not all banks will issue it, we are exploring how best to organize this process, but this is a new opportunity that has already made some progress," Ms. Portal added.

She expressed the opinion that Mir cards will also be popular among the local population, since there are those among them who often visit Russia.
