May 20, Fineko/abc.az. The EU foreign ministers have approved the 17th package of sanctions against Russia, and almost 200 tankers carrying Russian oil have been blacklisted.

ABC.AZ reports that the head of EU diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, wrote about this on X.

"The EU has adopted the 17th package of sanctions against Russia, including against 200 tankers," Kallas wrote, adding that "new sanctions are already being developed".

She did not specify which countries these tankers fly under. Restrictions on them mean a ban on entry into EU ports and on any transactions of European companies with these vessels.

Earlier, upon arrival at the meeting of EU foreign ministers, Kallas said that EU countries were already working on the 18th package of sanctions against Russia.

According to sources, the 17th package also includes the inclusion of several dozen Russian individuals and legal entities on the EU blacklist.
