May 21, Fineko/abc.az. In the first four months of 2025, the industrial producer price index in Azerbaijan decreased versus Jan-Apr 2024. However, prices are rising in the manufacturing industry.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that the overall producer price index for industrial products was 92.9, which means a decrease of 7.1%.
The most significant drop was recorded in the oil and gas industry - for Jan-Apr, the index in this sector was 89.9 (-10.1%). This trend affected the entire extractive industry, with its index falling to 88.7 (-11.3%), while crude oil and natural gas production dropped to 88.5 (-11.5%).
At that, prices in the non-oil/gas industry continue to rise - the index in this sector was 105.4, which is 5.4% more in annual terms. The highest growth was recorded in the extraction of metal ores - prices in this area increased by 29.2% over the year. There is also an increase in the production of building materials (+6.9%).
The index for the manufacturing industry as a whole was 106.5, which means an increase in costs for manufacturers by 6.5% year-on-year. The largest price increases were recorded in the production of petroleum products (+9.8%) and in the chemical industry (+9%).
