May 22, Fineko/abc.az. The Caucasus Muslims Department has allotted 1,250 quotas for Azerbaijani pilgrims wishing to perform the Hajj this year.
Vusal Jahangir, the head of the CMD External Relations Department and the head of the Electronic Hajj System, informs that although 30 people applied above the quota, their applications were not accepted, as the limit has already been filled.
"Among the pilgrims this year, only 1% are repeat travelers, the majority are new and young pilgrims. The group also includes 12 administrative staff and a team of doctors."
The first group will leave on May 25, and the last group will leave on May 31. The main rites of the Hajj will be held on June 4. Immediately after arrival, the pilgrims will perform the first rite - Umru. Independent prayers and rituals are planned until June 4.
The cost of a package for one person is $5,950.
In Azerbaijan, June 6-7 is declared a weekend in honor of Gurban Holiday.
