May 23, Fineko/abc.az. In 2024, the damage to the state from crimes related to the legalization of property amounted to 28 million manats.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting Tural Velibekov, deputy head of the Expert Analysis Department of the Main Anti-Corruption  Department under the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, as saying this at international scientific & practical conference "The role, tasks and responsibilities of supervisory authorities in combating the legalization of criminally acquired property and the financing of terrorism".

These crimes included forgery of documents, concealment of funds and fictitious transactions. As part of the investigation, 24 criminal cases were initiated, and 28 persons were charged. Property worth over 13 million manats was seized for the return of funds. Velibekov also noted that the growth of online betting and cryptocurrencies requires new approaches to investigation.
