May 23, Fineko/abc.az. Ukraine and the U.S. have launched a joint investment fund under the minerals agreement, ABC.AZ reports, quoting First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.

The U.S. and Ukraine will equally manage the fund, to which Kiev will contribute 50% of the proceeds from new licenses and rents. The Fund's revenues in the first 10 years will be reinvested in the Ukrainian economy.

The deal does not include debts or security guarantees. There is criticism in the Parliament: the agreement may weaken Ukraine's economic sovereignty.
