June 2, Fineko/abc.az. The process of rehabilitation and reconstruction of large industrial enterprises is currently underway in the Karabakh region (in particular, in the territories liberated from occupation).

In 2020, after the Patriotic War, the Azerbaijani state identified the economic and industrial development of these territories as one of its priorities.

ABC.AZ presents the list of the largest factories operating in Karabakh.

Large operating plants or enterprises under construction:

1. Industrial Park "Araz Valley Economic Zone" (Zangilan)

Several factories have been established here, and construction work is ongoing.

A concrete plant, enterprises for production of metallurgical products and building materials have been launched and are expanding.

It is developing as the south-western economic gateway of Azerbaijan.

2. Aghdam Industrial Park

It was founded by President Ilham Aliyev in 2021.

A concrete plant, processing plants, construction materials plants have already been built here, and several plants have been put into operation.

Azerturk Az LLC has built a factory in Aghdam for production of aluminum and plastic products.

3. Production of technical equipment for “rehabilitation and reconstruction" in the Eastern Zangezur and Karabakh regions

Industrial facilities for the repair and assembly of heavy machinery are starting to operate in the Zangilan and Fuzuli districts.

These plants mainly support the restoration of infrastructure.

4. Mining industry in Lachin and Kelbajar

It is planned to create stone quarries for building materials and cement production plants in the region.

Design work is underway on a cement plant (in particular, in Lachin).
