June 5, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 10 years, a number of car brands and models in Azerbaijan have been gradually withdrawn from the fleet.

According to ABC.AZ survey, this process is linked mainly with outdated technologies, lack of spare parts, and compliance with new environmental standards. In particular, VAZ and GAZ vehicles, as well as such models as Moskvich, Zaporozhets, Tofash, Daewoo, UAZ, Tavria, Oka and Saipa, are gradually being withdrawn from the fleet.

In addition, some car models produced in Azerbaijan are also losing their market positions. For example, Lifan models produced at Nakhchivan Automobile Plant (NAZ) and Khazar brand cars presented by Azermash have rarely been seen on the market in recent years.

These trends show that the automotive market in Azerbaijan is focused on new technologies and more modern models.
