June 13, Fineko/abc.az. A new rule is being introduced for those who import goods for personal use from abroad.

ABC.AZ informs that this was reflected in the proposed amendment to the Customs Code at today's meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship.

It is linked with the payment of customs duties that will arise in connection with the movement of goods across the customs border by individuals that are not intended for commercial purposes.

According to the draft, accrued customs duties will be paid by persons who are obligated to provide collateral, if the debtor pays them himself or security is provided in one of the ways envisaged in Article 258.1 of the Customs Code (pledge, bank guarantee, transfer of the amount to be paid to the escrow account of the customs authority, insurance contract, surety of a third party, advance payments).
