June 20, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of natural gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Europe has reached 50 bcm.
ABC.AZ informs, referring to the Ministry of Energy, that Azerbaijan began exporting gas to Europe on December 31, 2020.
According to the MoE, Azerbaijani gas supplies to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) increased significantly over this period, as well as the geography of exports has expanded.
In addition to Georgia and Turkey, 10 European countries receive Azerbaijani gas.
The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline, the last component of the Southern Gas Corridor designed to transport Azerbaijani gas from the Caspian Sea to Europe, was put into commercial operation on November 15, 2020. The 878 km long gas pipeline runs through Greece, Albania, the Adriatic Sea and Italy.
According to the agreement between Azerbaijan and the EU, Azerbaijani gas supplies should reach at least 16 bcm a year by 2027.
In 2024, Azerbaijani gas supplies to Europe totaled nearly 13 bcm.
