June 23, Fineko/abc.az. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called on China to contact Iran and convince it not to block the Strait of Hormuz.

ABC.AZ reports that according to Rubio, despite the fact that the closure of the route may cause a sharp increase in oil prices around the world, Iran itself will suffer the most:

"We have options for action, but other countries should pay attention to this. Their economy will suffer much more than ours. I urge the Chinese government in Beijing to contact them on this issue because they are heavily dependent on oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz," Rubio said in an interview with Fox News.
