ABC.AZ reports that the director of the Institute for Development and Diplomacy (IDD) Fariz Ismayilzada said about this at the opening ceremony of the 19th Baku Summer Energy School (BSES 2025), held at ADA University.
He noted that the program, which started 19 years ago on the shores of the Caspian Sea, has united thousands of mid-level specialists from Azerbaijan and foreign countries during this time.
“This year, 47 representatives from 15 countries and 30 speakers from 10 countries are participating in the program. Among them are not only Azerbaijan, but also countries located along the Southern Gas Corridor, in particular Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, and Italy. Participants from Chile, the US, Vietnam, Germany, the UK, Pakistan, and Spain are also represented. Last year, representatives from Nigeria and Saudi Arabia were among the participants, which confirms the annual renewal and expansion of the geography of the school,” he said.
He also emphasized that the Caspian region is becoming an active platform for the development of renewable energy sources, the implementation of infrastructure projects, and the deepening of ties with Central Asia.
“Our region is not only the cradle of the oil and gas industry, but also a space that is constantly in the spotlight in terms of geopolitical and energy processes,” the IDD director added.
