September 9, Fineko/abc.az. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed officially inaugurated on Tuesday the largest hydropower plant in Africa, the "Renaissance" Dam on the Nile, the construction of which had led to disagreements with Egypt and Sudan. According to ABC.AZ, this was reported during the live broadcast of the event on the African leader’s social media.

“This dam is a testament to our determination to use Ethiopia’s resources for the benefit of our citizens and the region,” the Prime Minister said in his speech at the official opening ceremony. He assured that the “Renaissance” Dam will stabilize river flows, reduce flooding, and contribute to economic integration without harming Egypt or Sudan.
