Armenia and US discuss “Trump Route” project

September 12, Fineko/abc.az. Senior official of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Brendan Hanrahan and Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan discussed the “Trump Route” project (TRIPP – a 42-kilometer section of the Zangazur Corridor running through Armenia).

According to ABC.AZ, citing Report and Armenian media, Papoyan emphasized Armenia’s strong interest in TRIPP, proposed attracting private investment, and suggested initiating the development of a roadmap for the program’s implementation.

The minister also highlighted the importance Armenia places on U.S. experience and support in infrastructure modernization and border security.

The parties discussed prospects for expanding Armenia–U.S. economic cooperation and increasing mutual trade turnover, covering key areas such as trade and investment, agriculture and food security, energy, high technology and innovation, information technology and digital economy, and tourism.

Earlier, Hanrahan stated that the U.S. intends to provide $145 million in assistance to Armenia for the implementation of the TRIPP initiative.
