October 1, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia have signed the Memorandum of Understanding on organization of cargo transportation via Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway line.

ABC.AZ reports that the chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), Rovshan Rustamov, announced this on his Facebook account.

"As part of the VII international transport & logistics business forum New Silk Way, held in Kazakhstan, we signed a memorandum of understanding with the heads of the railway administrations of Turkey and Georgia on organization of cargo transportation on Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway line. This document defines the general steps for the development of the BTK route as faster and more sustainable, but at the same time more competitive transport line.

Our main goals are to create a stable and predictable operating mode for the BTK line, improve conditions for shippers and increase traffic volumes," he emphasized.
