October 2, Fineko/abc.az. Renault is in talks with Chery about the joint production and sale of cars in South America. The Chinese company is ready to invest and provide its developments, and the French automaker - to provide access to factories in the region.

ABC.AZ informs that Renault's Envigado (Colombia) plant plans to produce cars with internal combustion engines, most of which will be sold under Renault brand, and a smaller one under Chery brand. In addition, the assembly of rechargeable hybrid pickups, with distribution from Renault, is being discussed at the plant in Cordoba (Argentina).

Negotiations are at early stage, and final decisions have not yet been made. Renault is already cooperating with Geely in South America: hybrid cars are being produced in Brazil. Bloomberg sources emphasize that the discussion with Chery does not affect the current alliance with Geely.
